The parents’ lounge is back since it was well received at last movie night. It will be located at the back of the gym so that parents can socialize, albeit quietly, through the movie without disturbing movie-watchers.
As usual, we’ll have food: hot dogs, pizza, samosas and baked goods along with popcorn and drinks.
So please come early enough to eat in the gym ahead of time.
Parent Event at Westwood Middle School
Westwood School Council has invited all community members (in our Family of Schools) to an event that they have organized entitled:
Parents for Parents: Exploring the exciting mind of the adolescent learner and sharing how to support them…and yourself
WHEN: Thursday, March 26, 2015
WHERE: Westwood Middle School, 994 Carlaw Ave
TIME: 7:00-9:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm)
Childcare and light refreshments will be provided.
We’ll be using Open Space Technology, whereby every participant has the opportunity to opt in and out of conversations that will take place around the room. Comments/thoughts will be charted. At the end of the night, there’ll be a plenary session of sorts, during which we’ll review the charts and pick out the key themes. Based on the key themes, we’ll determine focus of our next event (tentatively scheduled for May 5, during Mental Health Week).
Please see attached poster for more details and contact information.
