Monday October 27th is Election day in Toronto. Learn more about who the Trustees are in our Ward.

While Roden is in Ward 15 some of our students and families fall into Ward 16.

Roden Gr 7/8 student art will be on display at the Flying Pony (1481 Gerrard St. East) from October 27 to 31st. Halloween treats will also be distributed on the 31st between 5pm and 7pm.

The first-ever Roden Walk-a-thon is coming THIS FRIDAY! Students have been working hard to get sponsors and win some BIG prizes!

A few reminders to make this event a success:

· SPONSOR ENVELOPES must be returned to class on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings this week in order to win prizes.

· All students must return their SPONSOR ENVELOPE to the school even if they don’t receive any sponsors.

· This event will take place rain or shine, so please ensure your child dresses appropriately.

In addition to all of the INDIVIDUAL PRIZES, a CELEBRATION PARTY will be awarded to the two classes who raise the most funds (one for JK/SK to Grade 3 and one for Grades 4 – 8) and a TOP PRIZE will be awarded to the student who raises the most money in the school! Prizes will be announced during the closing ceremony on Friday, October 17.

Roden School Council is holding its’ first meeting of the year on Wednesday, October 8 in the school library starting at 6:00 p.m.

Toronto District School Board currently includes a Parent Representative on Vice Principal Interview Committees.

Parents or guardians are welcome to participate in the upcoming vice principal interviews of the TDSB. The expressions of Interest (form attached) will now be accepted until October 10, 2014.

This is one great way to increase parental involvement and help parents really understand what administrators do and what teachers have to do to become administrators. Please help us keep this project alive. In partnership we will help our students achieve great things!
