Vision Zero Road Safety Plan

Councillor Paula Fletcher is hosting a town hall on the City’s Vision Zero Road Safety Plan. It is taking place on Monday, October 16th from 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm at the Ralph Thornton Centre. See the flyer below for details.

Vision Zero is a new approach to road safety that takes into account the needs of all road users and uses data to look at where accidents happen and who is most vulnerable. One of the areas of emphasis is school children. The new head of Transportation, Barbara Gray, will be at the Town Hall to give a presentation and answer questions.

Movie night needs you

Movie Nights are in trouble! Can you help?

Roden School Council is seeking a team of parents or friends of the school to run our movie nights program this year! Our previous movie guru, Spencer, is willing to run the first event with you and download everything he knows, but he needs someone to handover to.

Your commitment would be just a few evenings over the course of the year, with flexibility for you to help select the dates and the movies. Contact our new chair, Jen: chair@roden.ca

Staying in touch with Roden

To streamline communications, Roden School Council will be contributing regularly to the Principal’s monthly mail-out. The Council newsletter (signed up via this website) will still be sent out on an as needed basis throughout the school year.

Keep in touch with Council events between newsletters through Facebook (www.facebook.com/rodensc) and this website.

Please also consider joining our Volunteers email list (contact Chair@roden.ca to be added). Being on the list means you hear about upcoming events early and there’s no obligation to volunteer or respond. You can help out if and when you choose, with everything from poster
design and artwork, through photocopying and putting up posters, to baking, selling tickets and more.

One of the best ways to find out what’s going on is by attending a School Council Meeting. The next School Council meeting starts at 6pm in the Library on Wednesday 25 October. All are welcome!
