We need help!

Join the team! The Roden School Council needs people to help with prep, support at events, and clean up aferward; people who can help solicit donations of refreshments and door prizes; people who can write and give tech support to our new website and e-newsletter; people who can provide translation of our newsletters into Urdu, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese and other languages spoken in the Roden community.  It is also time to start thinking about joining next year’s School Council! Get involved to support your child’s school.  Please come out to the next School Council meeting (June 12), email chair@roden.ca, or leave a message in the Council mailbox in Roden’s main office by phone 416-393.9555 or in person.

Discover Your Community: a P.A. Day Field Trip

If you are new to Canada or Toronto, join us for a fun outing to two local attractions, Allan Gardens and Riverdale Farm (everyone else is welcome as well).  Meet at the Roden PS front doors (Hiawatha Rd) at 9:45am on Friday June 7th and travel by streetcar to explore the nearby attractions.  Check the website for updates and watch for flyers to come home.

Roden Council Family BBQ

Ring in summer and join us for a year end BBQ at the school on Friday June 21.  A variety of items will be on sale including hamburgers and hotdogs and a South East Asian buffet.  Check our website for updates.  If you have ideas or would like to get involved, then please email chair@roden.ca or drop a note in the Council mailbox in the main office.

April Parent Workshop: PRO Grant

The April Parents’ Evening was a success. We had great community involvement including support from Parks & Recreation, the Gerrard-Ashdale Library, Applegrove and East End Health Centre. We had businesses donating great door prizes and discounted food including Rakia Bar who provided appetizers and The Famous who provided Samosas and Pakoras. Thank you to all for their continued support of our events. We had about 40 parents in attendance, and well over 50 children!
