Walk-a-thon a success!!

The Roden Community came together and raised a whopping $10,357.80, surpassing our goal of $5,000!

Thank you to all the parents, caregivers, neighbours, friends and family who contributed to making this a success. Students at Roden will be benefiting from the funds raised. Classes will receive funds to support what inspires them such as art, sports, music and culture.

A special thank you to our volunteers: Tanya, Nadia, Theresa, Guillermo, Tawyna, Sarah, Heather, Fiona, Grace, Phyllis, Melissa M., Rachael, Connie, Colleen Cl., Zahra, Uzma, Denise, Jodi, Heather A., Suzanne, Melissa L., Diane, Ian, Elaine, Colleen Co, Spencer, Roger, Alice, Eileen, Meg, Dianne, John, Ray, Sundri, Kathleen, Angelie, Julie, Fei Fei.

The top primary class fundraisers are Ms. McGonigle’s grade 2 class who raised $1,258.
The top junior/intermediate fundraisers are Ms. Campbell’s grade 5 class who raised $576. Honourable mention goes to Mrs. Mighton’s JK/SK class and Mr. Donovan’s grade 4 class.

Top student fundraiser is Kainen Tsang from Ms. McGonigle’s class.
Honourable mention goes to Asher from Mrs. Mighton’s class, Thelonious from Mrs. Morris’ class, Chloe from Ms. Vacrinos’ class, Triman from Mr.Walters’ class, Owen and Lucy from Ms. McGonigle’s class, and Geordy from Ms. Chan’s class. All of these students raised over $200 each!

In total, we awarded 84 footballs, 27 playground balls, 13 soccer balls, 9 movie passes, and 4 Science Centre passes! Thank you to all our sponsors for making it a success: Monarch Park stadium, Canadian tire, Brenda and Lance, the Carver Twins, ontario Science Centre.

Roden’s Walk-a-thon was a great success!

Roden’s Grades 7 & 8 students celebrate at the finish line of the Walk-a-thon Oct. 17. And a celebration was in order: Roden students and their families almost doubled our fundraising goal to bring in a whopping $9,600! Thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen; a special note of thanks to organizers Nadia and Tanya.
