Roden & Equinox have joined forces to form an Indoor Air Quality committee with a clear focus on removing carpets in our schools as well as replacing water stained ceiling tiles.
We have met with TDSB officials and we are happy to report that we are making progress! Not only will some of the carpet be removed this summer or early fall, but it will be replaced with bio-tile (instead of the standard vinyl).
To date, the following rooms are slated to have to carpets removed: area 14, area 22, area 37. We are hopeful that there will be more, especially on the first floor kindergarten rooms and hallways.
The next step is to have indoor air quality testing done in the school. This is being ordered by a TDSB Health & Safety Officer. It should be done by the end of the school year.
