Help Us Bring Holiday Joy to School Families in Need

As the holiday season approaches, we are reaching out to our compassionate community with a heartfelt appeal. At Roden we are committed to fostering a supportive environment for all our families, especially during times when many face financial challenges. We recognize everyone is being asked to support so many worthy organizations locally, nationally, and internationally. We share this message in the hopes that, if you are able, you can help.

This year has been particularly tough for some of our school families, and we want to ensure that they can celebrate the holidays with joy, dignity, and full stomachs. We have launched two initiatives in support of families in our community that need a little extra support to get through the winter break. 

  1. We are collecting cash donations to help us raise money for grocery gift cards to bridge the gap over the winter break.
  2. We are participating in a toy drive with the Swag Sisters’ Toy Store to raise money for new books and toy to families in our community over the holidays.

How you can participate:

  1. Grocery gift cards: Donate directly to School Cash Online. Simply select Roden Public School from the dropdown menu, and direct your gift to the School Council Fundraising option. We have set a fundraising goal of $2,000 for this initiative.
  2. Toy drive: Donate money by e-transfer (RSC@roden.ca) or bring cash to the front office and help us raise $1,000 toward gifts to make the holidays a little brighter. Swag Sisters’ will match every dollar we raise.

With your support, we aim to provide essential resources and help alleviate of the financial burdens some of our school families may be experiencing.

By coming together as a community, we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of our fellow school families. Your support sends a powerful message of solidarity and care. Every dollar counts, and together, we can make a significant difference.
