All Roden and Equinox students are encouraged to move, dance, jump and have fun at the Halloween dance-a-thon fundraiser in the school gym. It’s a great way to stay fit while supporting your school. Funds raised from both schools will go towards new gym equipment and literacy supplies.
Your child should have received a Halloween dance-a-thon pledge envelope in their school bag. Extra pledge envelopes are available in the front office. Tax receipts for cash or cheque donations may be issued for donations over $25 if requested. TDSB requires the donor’s contact information (address, name and telephone number) to issue the tax receipt – please make cheques payable to Roden Public School.
Online donations are also accepted. Click here to make an online donation. Select Roden Public School from the drop down menu. Please add a note in the message section that the donation is for the “Halloween Dance-a-thon Fundraiser.” Online donations over $25 automatically receive a tax receipt, printable immediately.
All students are welcome to participate in the dance-a-thon regardless if they have pledges or not. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but not required.

If you have preschoolers in the family, consider bringing them to the Early ON centre in the morning too, as their usual gym session at 10am will be replaced by a chance to join in the party!
Please try to return your pledge envelope and donations on or before the day of the event itself. Thank you for your support.
Last year’s Summer Send Off raised over $6,000 towards cultural enrichment experiences for our students. Again, keep an eye out on Facebook and around school for more information about the presentations and performances which we’ll bring to students over the coming year!
Roden’s first movie night of the year will be Friday Nov 23rd. Keep a lookout for the time and movie title!
Last year’s dance party was a huge success – everyone had a great time and we raised over $2000 towards our Technology and Literacy contributions. Watch out for more information on our costume dance party, coming up during the school day on 31st October!!!
The Dance party was just one of the events last year that raised money for Primary / Junior Literacy and Intermediate / Senior Technology requests from our brilliant teaching staff. In total we raised over $6,000. Our younger classes can now look forward to a reinvigorated library of levelled reading books and our older students have a collection of exciting equipment including an interactive virtual sand table. Come along to the October Council meeting for a sneak peek!
Lost property is a big problem in every school and it really does help when items are labelled. If you buy stick-on labels, please consider doing so from Mabel’s Labels using our Fundraiser link https://mabelslabels.com/support-a-fundraiser.
Council recently received our first rebates from this link, which are used to support health initiatives such as lice checks, nutrition programs etc within the school.

In recent years, Council has hosted regular movie nights to bring the community together and raise money for our various programs. This year our wonderful volunteer organizer, Spencer, is unable to continue running these events. If you can spare a few hours to run even one movie, please contact Jen (email@example.com). No experience required. We already have the licence and equipment and can give you lots of pointers on how to run a successful event, as well as a great team of helpers on the day.
