Kilometre Club

Start your day with exercise, friends and fresh air!

Kilometre Club is an organized time for students and parents/caregivers of Equinox or Roden schools to get some exercise before school, 3 days a week. All you have to do to join is show up!

When?
Start date: Friday, May 1
End date: Friday, June 12 (Fun Fair! Mark your calendars!)

Kilometre Club will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
You can begin at 8:20 AM or later. Running stops at 8:45 AM.
You can run on any or all of the days. It’s up to you.

How?
1. Run or walk around the school field on any of the days/times listed above.
2. Collect a stick each time you do one lap. 5 laps = 1 km
3. At 8:45 AM, check in with the lap recorders and tell them how many laps you did. Hand in your sticks.
4. Once you’ve done 100 laps (yes, you CAN DO IT!), you’ll earn a 20 km ribbon. For each additional 20 km you complete, earn a new ribbon! (20 km, 40 km, 60 km, 80 km, 100 km)

Why?
Kilometer Club is a fun way to get our bodies moving, socialize with friends and get some fresh air. Plus, students love earning ribbons! Parents – don’t be alarmed if your kids are actually eager to get to school in the mornings (at least on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays!).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
In order for this club to run, we need volunteers to record laps (8:45-8:55 AM) and hand out sticks (8:20-8:45 AM). If you can commit to one morning per week, please e-mail chair@roden.ca.

Hosted by Mr. Poon and sponsored by Roden School Council.
