Roden/Equinox Clothing Exchange

The CLOTHING SWAP is back, just in time for winter!

Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 3, 2:30-4:30, in the school gym.

Donations can be dropped off anytime at the Hiawatha, Ashdale, and Fairford doors from now until November 3. Gently used clothing (of all sizes) footwear, accessories, books, and toys are welcome! (Please mark bags with size to help us sort!)

All items remaining after the swap will help stock our own Clothing Bank at the school and will be donated to the GLOW program at New Circles.

This event is FREE and all are welcome to come find some gems and help us keep quality used stuff recirculating in our community rather than going into landfill.

To volunteer, email andrea.j.schneider@gmail.com.

DANCE-A-THON – Wednesday, October 31st

All Roden and Equinox students are encouraged to move, dance, jump and have fun at the Halloween dance-a-thon fundraiser in the school gym. It’s a great way to stay fit while supporting your school. Funds raised from both schools will go towards new gym equipment and literacy supplies.

Your child should have received a Halloween dance-a-thon pledge envelope in their school bag. Extra pledge envelopes are available in the front office. Tax receipts for cash or cheque donations may be issued for donations over $25 if requested. TDSB requires the donor’s contact information (address, name and telephone number) to issue the tax receipt – please make cheques payable to Roden Public School.

Online donations are also accepted. Click here to make an online donation. Select Roden Public School from the drop down menu. Please add a note in the message section that the donation is for the “Halloween Dance-a-thon Fundraiser.” Online donations over $25 automatically receive a tax receipt, printable immediately.

All students are welcome to participate in the dance-a-thon regardless if they have pledges or not. Halloween costumes are encouraged, but not required.

 Dance-a-thon Schedule

  • 9:15 am – Grades 3 & 4
  • 10:30 am – Kindergarten
  • 11:00 am – Grades 1 & 2
  • 1:00 pm – Grades 5 & 6
  • 2:00 pm – Grades 7 & 8

If you have preschoolers in the family, consider bringing them to the Early ON centre in the morning too, as their usual gym session at 10am will be replaced by a chance to join in the party!

Please try to return your pledge envelope and donations on or before the day of the event itself. Thank you for your support.
